Pandu currently serves as the Chairman of the Indonesian Coal Mining Association (APBI-ICMA).
Pandu Sjahrir is also the CFO of Toba Bara Sejahtra (Toba), a leading mining company in Indonesia, which was recently selected as one of Forbes’ 2013 Best of the Best Companies in the nation and Finance Asia’s 7th Company Most Committed to Paying Good Dividends in 2015. Pandu also serves as Vice-CEO of Adimitra Baratama Nusantara (ABN), the largest operating company in Toba.
Pandu consolidated three coal-operating companies within the Toba group and restructured all the shareholders into Toba, which he led through an IPO in June 2012. It was the largest global coal IPO at the time. During his tenure, Toba’s revenues grew from $200 million to $500 million, reaching over $160 million in EBITDA. He also has raised over $250 million in financing for the group.
Previously, Pandu was a Senior Investment Analyst at Matlin Patterson, a $9 Billion private equity firm in New York. Pandu also was a Principal at Byun &Co., and as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers in Hong Kong.
Pandu received his degrees from the University of Chicago (BA) and the Stanford Graduate School of Business (MBA).
