China's General Administration of Customs will start inspections on fertilizer exports from 15 October, according to an official notice published today.
CGAC has listed 29 types of fertilizer commodities whose exports will be subject to inspections.
The 29 types include, but are not limited to, urea, DAP, MAP, NPK, NP/NPS, MOP, SOP, ammonium chloride, and ammonium nitrate fertilizers.
Ammonium sulphate, which China is a dominant exporter with around 8.7mn t exported in 2020, is not on the list.
It is unclear how the inspection will be conducted.
The announcement came after news yesterday that certain port authorities in China are likely to halt fresh deliveries of urea and other fertilizers for export.
